About me
Nice to meet you!
I’m Leigh Yonemoto: a UX Designer from Hawaii, based in Seattle. I currently work at Wunderman Thompson, creating digital venue experiences for Microsoft.
MY MISSION – I am driven by a creative passion to improve the lives of others through designs that are centered around the human experience and the needs of others. My empathetic nature and optimistic outlook form a solid foundation to create innovative and genuine UIs. Be passionate about everything you do. And make it fun! That is my motto.
MY PATH – Prior to switching careers to UX Design, I studied Business Administration at Seattle University with a focus in marketing. I quickly learned that marketing directly translates to UX Design because both are about making a product as desirable to a customer or user as possible. Both mediums focus on user-centric research and psychology which has sparked my interest ever since.
Post college I got into the commercial real estate industry where I helped to manage a diverse portfolio of commercial properties in Seattle. This role gave me experience in working with a close team to handle tenants’ needs and to find effective solutions to their pain points. My transition into UX design sparked from my desire for a creative outlet and the skills I picked up along the journey has made the process an exciting and seamless experience.
MY GOALS – In the future, I hope to pair my passion for innovation and user psychology with UX principles to push society toward more effective and more inclusive design platforms.
